"Pefrán Sostenible" is a set of environmental protection and energy efficiency actions that have been launched from Pefrán.

This new project includes the installation of photovoltaic stations for self-consumption and the promotion of measures related to energy efficiency (such as reducing plastic usage, increasing machinery efficiency, and recycling paper and cardboard) in all stages of production.

Photovoltaic stations

The photovoltaic stations that Pefrán has installed on 95% of the available roofs in its factory will have zero injection, with the installation of high-efficiency photovoltaic panels without surplus energy, providing 100% for self-consumption. Specifically, it is estimated that they will cover 25% of the total annual consumption of their production through self-generated photovoltaic energy.

Pefrán's new photovoltaic self-consumption installation is supported by European Next Generation funds. The project is part of the programme of incentives linked to self-consumption and storage, with renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of renewable thermal systems in the residential sector within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union - NextGenerationEU.

This important project brings us closer to our commitment to the environment and sustainability.

Furthermore, this investment will avoid the emission of more than 250 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by a plantation of over 330 trees in the next 10 years.

Cardboard

All the cardboard packaging used by Pefrán has the FSC certification, which is required for all our suppliers. This guarantees to the consumer that the forest-based material used comes from responsibly managed forests and controlled sources.

Additionally, FSC® forest certification promotes forests that store carbon and contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
